How do you get rid of a sore throat? I've got a pretty bad one. Gargling saltwater and taking lozenges aren't doing any good because the effects of them don't seem to reach far enough down my throat, where the pain is.
So far, only the occasional hacking cough that brings up a wad of phlegm, causes my eyes to tear up, and makes me wonder if I'm going to throw up, brings any sort of temporary relief. Perhaps it's because the rest of my esophogus is hurting instead.
I've checked WebMD, and it doesn't appear to be strep throat, since I have other cold symptoms (cough, sniffles, fatigue). I think it's either laryngitis or a plain cold, neither of which is treatable by antibiotics, so I think I'm stuck toughing it out. :(
This is Day 3 of this sore throat, and it's only getting worse. *cry*
